Coming Together

Life right now seems to be an endless procession of ugliness, meanness, fear, hatred, and craziness. Every day we are bearing witness to the rot that has been hiding just beneath the surface of our society. Although this can feel devastating as we are bombarded by different forms of craziness every day, we must realize that without our situation bringing forth the truth of this society, we would continue to be blind and the ugliness would continue to grow.


Now we are privileged to live in an atmosphere begging for change and the awareness of so many of us that change must happen. We have gotten a peek at the extent of the corruption, prejudice, and hatred that lives in every corner of this nation. And now that this demon is unmasked, we can create a community in which it can be eradicated before it can expand any further. Banding together, letting our voices be heard as one peoples committed to helping create a country that cares for and abides by the will of the people.


Once upon a time, several heroic men came together to form a country that was completely different from any that existed at the time. They believed in the possibility of freedom and a community based on fairness and brotherhood. They believed and claimed eloquently, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness…”. How did we begin to lose this dream?


I believe that it is past time that we rekindle kindness toward our fellow man. I believe it is time to ask what we can do for each other not what have you done for me, and I believe that if we work together, we will bring back that dream of freedom and cooperation that was what this country was founded on.


Just like those brave founding fathers, working together we can create miracles.
